About Baby Starfish - Biography
Lucy Rodmell founded Starfish Personal Training in April 2004. She is a cutting-edge personal trainer who specialises in a flexible approach to health and fitness. Her unique programs are relevant to the activities clients enjoy doing in day to day life.

Her scientific areas of expertise include hip joint replacements, shoulder biomechanics and lower leg injury criteria. As a research engineer, she designed part of the next generation of crash test dummy. As well as having had papers published in the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma and also Medicine, Science and Law, Lucy was also sought after as an expert witness on a baby shaken syndrome case through her knowledge of the head injury biomechanics.
Lucy aspired to turn her intellectual knowledge and desire to make a difference to people's everyday life. In 2003 she became a leading fitness instructor at one of the UK's largest independent gyms. With a background in Biomechanics and a passion for life, Lucy takes great care to ensure that exercise is fun, safe and effective.
However, one of her greatest achievements to date is that of motherhood. She maintained her own fitness levels throughout her pregnancy. With the help of the community midwives, she enjoyed a straight forward birth and was surprised at how much energy she had afterwards. She understands how hard it can be to get the motivation to exercise during pregnancy but firmly believes the benefits, before, during and after the birth have been 100% worth it.
As a qualified Pre and Post Natal Exercise Specialist she established Baby Starfish in January 2007 and has supported women through their pregnancy enabling them to gain confidence in their body and their birth. She is a firm believer in choice and appreciates that every pregnancy, birth, mother and baby are different and therefore need to be treated differently. She loves working with new mums who want to get their increase their energy levels and get into shape but who don't have the time, motivation or childcare to enable them to take regular exercise.
